Biography

Itaru Mishiku

Born in 1949 in Shizuoka prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Sculpture at the Italian National Academy of Art (Class of Emilio Greco) in 1977.

Major exhibitions include the “Japan & Italy New Generation” Exhibition at the Institute of Japanese Culture and the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome (1992), “Disassembly & Combination” Exhibition at the Spoleto Municipal Museum of Art (1993), the “5th Nouvelle Vente Itaru Mishiku Sculpture Exhibition” at the Tokyo Fujita Vente Museum (1994), the “Rome Contemporary Art Special Exhibition” at the Rome Municipal Contemporary Art Museum (1997), the solo exhibition “Regeneration” at the University of Rome Affiliated Experimental Contemporary Art Museum (2005), and the solo exhibition “Barriers” at the Spoleto Contemporary Art Museum (2006). A large number of works are erected in both Japan and Italy.
